Awesome…
…Particularly the ending about discovering how to give love instead of looking to take. I remember shifting into that place when I was in the middle of Heartbreak Hotel. Beyond the typical heartbreak sadness, I remember feeling soooo uncomfortable! I was left with all of this pent-up energy that had been built up after a year of love and devotion to one person. What the hell was I supposed to do with that now?!
Once I got over the initial phase of devastation, I was able to move that energy into other areas of my life and to other people-writing, charity, closer friendships, work, etc. Consequently, all of those areas of my life became so much more meaningful. My love may not have been dedicated to one person anymore, but it was available to so many more. Kinda like a universal “give a penny, take a penny” 😉
It’s so important to sit and just be with your feelings. But it’s an awesome moment when you’re able to get hands-on and work with them, too.
I gotta read this book!
