Meditation practice begins at 13:40
Hello, wonderful Open Heart Project. I hope your practice is going well. If it isn’t for any reason, I hope you will immediately switch to a much more difficult practice: being gentle with yourself.
Before today’s sit, I share some thoughts about how meditation is actually more of a mystical practice than self-improvement. In fact, it can introduce us to sources of lasting joy. Please have a listen and lmk what you think!
With love,
Susan

Thank you for continuing to remind us about the post-conventional benefits of meditation. I think you are exactly right.
The benefits I have received from my 10+ years of Shambhala Meditation are indescribable. Life IS experienced on a deeper level. My life is richer, and my relationships, at least some of them, are more meaningful and, hopefully, more honest.
I am still triggered, often quite easily, by things I should’ve outgrown by now, but at least I am aware when it happens and, in most cases, I can usually allow myself to simply feel what I’m feeling, and drop the story around it.
This one thing alone is enormously helpful.
But all the other benefits you mention here are true as well.
Thank you for all you do, Susan!
Nanette, thank you for your practice! It sounds truly great. Love, S
