Hello Open Heart Project.
I hope you are well and finding sources of joy, big, small, in-between.
In this week’s video, I share some thoughts about what may be the most important spiritual teaching for our time. I’m pretty sure I’m not exaggerating. Have a listen and see what you think!
Love,
Susan

Thank you for the lesson, it’s so important to be be impeccable with our word and also not gossip. It is always good to be mindful of this step of the eightfold path. We search for our truth and hope that truth will help set us free..
thank you for this gentle reminder of right speech and the nature of bringing it into our daily lives.
Right speech is definitely something of which I need to be more mindful. It’s so easy to talk fast and not take care to be sure that my words accurately express what I’m trying to communicate. Sometimes I feel more comfortable in writing for that reason because I can go back and edit what I’m trying to express Thank you, Patty
Yes. ❤️
Thank you Susan. I’m still not quite clear on how to “call out” injustice or genocide with right speech. In some cases it seems that urgent actions are required to oppose something. There will always be some mixture of bad or unconscious intention, but how do you act while working out what your “real” intentions are?
I hope that makes sense (I think I’m being unclear). Thank you again for raising these issues.
Many thanks for this timely reminder about the importance of right speech. In this overly noisy world, too little consideration is allowed. As I listened, I realized that I have been guilty of some abusive speech, when I let my frustration burst out without taking a pause to consider how it might land to another’s ears. This makes me very sad, and I know I can do better.
In an overly-emojied world of communication, it’s more important than ever to be thoughtful and precise with words, and to take the pause before rushing thoughts into words. So much work to do, always….
