Hello Wonderful Open Heart Project,

Happy new year! I hope you are well and finding sources of joy, big and/or small.

As one year turns into the next, it’s natural to wonder: how do I finally, finally make the changes I long for?! How do I move forward rather than continually taking one step forward, two steps back, and so on?

In the Buddhist view, deep, transformational learning happens by three steps.

Please have a listen and let me know what you think. I always love hearing from you.

Love,
Susan

PS: This video references the book, Progressive Stages of Meditation on Emptiness by the radiant Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche. Please check it out.

I really resonated with this simple suggestion: Listen, Contemplate, Meditate (Act). My challenge is bringing “contemplation” into my traditional sitting meditation. It’s a distraction and an unwelcome off ramp from following the breath. Has anyone else struggled with this and has suggestions to offer? Happy New Year fellow Sangha members.

Are there not some meditations where you sit in order to contemplate 🤔 allowing things to come to you.
Maybe good just after following breath ☺️

I never contemplate so this is very informative for me , I sit and listen but from now on will contemplate as well. It does seem like a difficult process for me so will take a bit of time. I have lots of time. Thank you for this large nugget of information and Happy New Year
