Simplicity is peaceful

Hello, Open Heart Project.
When I woke up this morning, I wasn’t sure what I should pay attention to first. The problems of the world? My practice? My giant to-do list? The more I tried to figure it out, the more anxious I became…until I realized that all I wanted to do was clean my shrine (the table behind me). I got some glass cleaner and wipes, took everything off the shrine, dusted and cleaned each item, then replaced it all. Doing this simple task (which was also a gesture of respect for my practice and my teachers) gave me focus and ease. It was a very simple thing and sometimes the simplest things are best.
As you go about this day, definitely pay attention to the big problems and concerns, but you could also notice the small things in your life and give them your loving attention.
What simple task can you accomplish this week? Let me know!
Love, Susan
PS The very first USA Open Heart Project retreat is now open for registration. I hope you will join me in Colorado for this exciting five day gathering of the clan, September 14-19, 2017.
