Over the years, I’ve heard from many of you who wish to find a teacher. I truly understand that wish! On one level, it is not an easy question to answer. Though there are great, realized teachers out there, they are few and far between. It is hard to know who to trust.
In the Buddhist view, there is, however, one teacher who is always available and singularly trustworthy: the inner teacher. In fact, the job of the outer teacher is to introduce you to the inner teacher, whether through in-person teachings, books, or videos. In fact, if the outer teacher does not make this introduction, they’ve fallen down on the job.
Please believe me when I say the inner teacher is real. There is a part of you that always knows the truth. How do we tune in more deeply to this profound and intimate voice?
