Workshop: The Four Noble Truths of Love Online Program

April 18 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm CT

| $10-$75

Event Navigation

Relationships present our deepest challenges along the life path.

They’re mysterious and confounding, and mostly what our culture offers are stories that end once two people fall in love. But what happens after that? What does it mean when the initial blush wears off and the magic starts to change? Is it possible to stay in love without grasping? How can you recover trust in love once your heart has been broken? This evening session with Susan will explore how to bring mindfulness into all love relationships, romantic and otherwise. Together, we’ll inquire into:

  • How to bring the fruits of spiritual practice into our love lives to deepen affection, passion, and kindness

  • How to fall in love without grasping—is it possible?

  • The wisdom of heartbreak

  • How to stay open to loving and being loved

Our gathering will include meditation practice and discussion, and an exploration of how to apply Susan’s insights.

Who Is This For?

Susan’s workshop is open to anyone, particularly those of you who want to approach love not as a romantic fantasy, but honestly, passionately, and in real life. Because she is an authorized meditation teacher, there will be periods of silent practice so, ideally, you would have either an interest in or a commitment to a meditative / contemplative practice, but it’s not required for this experience.

Workshop Schedule

  • 6:00 – 7:00 pm – Dharma Talk and Discussion: What are the Four Noble Truths of Love?

  • 7:00 – 8:00 pm – Meditation Practice: Instruction for meditation followed by Q/R around the inquiry, how can spiritual practice help?

  • 8:00 – 8:20 pm – Break

  • 8:20 – 9:00 pm – Discussion: Now what? What habits and practices can I bring to my daily life to preserve a sacred and more honest view of love?
