Audio-only version is here.
Meditation practice begins at 18:06.

Dear Open Heart Project,

Welcome to the second video in our series: Cultivating the Mind of Compassion in a Crazy World. Last week, we discussed the first of four qualities: Affection for the World. This week, we discuss the second: Faith in the Right Situations. What is faith? What are the right situations? Please have a listen to hear more.

One more thing—our acclaimed Meditation Instructor Training program launches March 17. Early bird pricing is available until February 22 so if you’re interested, please check it out! This is the only time it will be offered in 2022.  It would be great to see you there.

With love, Susan

PS – Please join writer and art savant Kevin Townley for 4 classes to hear his unique insights into the Five Buddha Wisdoms. Starting February 10th, Kevin will draw from his wide-ranging body of knowledge to teach how the tantric Buddhist view is reflected in the work of secular artists. Material will be drawn from his upcoming book, Look, Look, Look, Look, Look Again: Buddhist Wisdom Reflected in 26 Artists. You can register here.

Dear Susan, Your explanation of the 3 Jewels especially “The Buddha” was extremely helpful. I “know” the 3 Jewels, but have not had a way to understand it. Your teaching on “The Dharma” has also widened my understanding. I had separated myself out from both of those. With such appreciation for you teachings that are filled with humility, wisdom, humor and love. betsy

Thank you Susan, some sanity and a point of rest in a very busy and complicated world/life. This really touched me – newness, unfamiliarity, uncertainty.
Navigating this with maintainence of mental and physical health and patience.
Your wisdom and calmness is refreshing and familiar.

    Love xx

    Hi Susan,
Tired, yes, SO tired, for so many reasons. I realize this is at the root of my sometimes swearing rants at the smallest provocation in recent weeks! And difficulty in feeling compassion for self, others and world some days. To decide what I need to do to look after this tiredness and ‘recover’ is my next step. Thanks for all your words and all you are.

SO tired! It’s completely understandable to be fatigued and on edge at this point. I hope you will rest and take good care! I will try, too. With love, Susan

I just went through a heart-breaking divorce from a partner I love very deeply. And at the same time had two major health issues arise for me. Your books and talks have been helping me so much. I can’t thank you enough. I feel so much less alone in all of this. I often struggle with my thoughts being all over the place, fearful and clinging, causing me added suffering. I am just starting meditation and appreciate practicing with you.

    Thank you Susan.
